McCulloch Saddlery is a family owned and operated business specializing in custom saddles that are built for cowboys by cowboys. Scott McCulloch is a second generation saddlemaker that has grown up in a custom saddle shop. He built his first saddle at the age of 15 and has never looked back since. After graduating college from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Scott found himself with a steady flow of custom leather orders which led him to open his own shop in 2004.
Scott grew up in central California where he learned traditional ways of handling cattle and horses on many area ranches. He has spent countless days working cattle and starting colts giving him insight about saddles that can only be aquired through years of use and experience. This experience has enabled him to relate to the routine demands that a cowboy's work puts their equipment through on a daily basis. Scott also draws on vast experience from the rodeo arena where he has competed proffessionally in calf roping, steer roping, and team roping. He has won and placed at rodeos such as Oakdale, Salinas, Pendelton, and Tucson, in addition to several all-around titles at other rodeos.
The wealth of knowledge from both in the arena and on the ranch has given Scott a unique perspective on the qualities a truly custom saddle should have. At McCulloch Saddlery we strive to produce custom equipment tailored to fit both the horse and rider. Each item is meticulously crafted to satisfy the needs of the customer and the requirements of their activities. We use the best materials that we can find and spare no expense when it comes to sourcing quality supplies. Many of our suppliers are also custom shops that specialize in one or two particular products whether it be saddle trees, cinchas, or stirrups; we use them because they strive for perfection much like ourselves. Call McCulloch Saddlery today and let them build you a one of a kind saddle that can hold up to the daily rigors of roping and ranch work while being comfortable enough to ride all day.
